CHERRY CRUMB CAKE 
4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch baking powder
1 pinch baking soda
1 c. shortening
1 egg
2 cans cherry pie filling
2 tbsp. sugar

Cream together shortening, egg, and sifted items. Take half of the above mixture and line a 9 x 13 pan. Spread the 2 cans of pie filling on top of the crumb mixture, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar over pie filling. Add remainder of crumb mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until golden brown. You can add any pie filling, only when using apple pie filling, cut the apples up in smaller pieces and sprinkle some cinnamon along with the 2 tablespoons sugar.
