NAVY BEAN SOUP 
2 c. beans
6 c. water
1 ham bone
1 bay leaf
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/8 tsp. pepper

Sort and wash beans. Cover beans with water and bring to boil. Boil for 2 minutes. Cover. Remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and cook for a few hours.
