LASAGNA | |
1 lb. lasagna noodles 1 lb. ricotta cheese 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese 1 (32 oz.) spaghetti sauce 1 lb. ground chuck 1 lb. garlic sausage 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs Salt & pepper 1 onion, chopped fine 1 jumbo egg Parmesan cheese Cook noodles and drain. Cook sausage. Make meatballs by combining the ground chuck, onion, egg, bread crumbs and salt and pepper. Roll into small bite size balls. Fry. Drain and add to sauce together with the sausage. Layer in lasagna pan, beginning with sauce. Then noodle, ricotta, grated Mozzarella, spoon on sausage pieces and meatballs together with a small amount of sauce. Repeat layers to top of pan, ending with noodles. Top with sauce and grated Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Let set on counter for about 15 minutes before cutting. This allows the cheeses to set and it will cut more attractively. Serve with large tossed salad and garlic bread. Also put extra sauce on table. Yields 12 servings. |
