DATE LOAF CANDY 
2 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 box chopped dates
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. chopped pecans

Mix sugar, dates, milk and butter. Cook. Stir while cooking. Cook until forms soft ball in water and remove from fire. (not long) Beat until thick. Add nuts. Pour on damp cloth and shape into loaf. Slice when cool. Should be kept in refrigerator.
