VELVET CRUMB CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk or water
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour pan. Beat all ingredients on low speed scraping bowl constantly 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 4 minutes. Pour into oblong pan. Bake until wooden pick comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Cool slightly, spread with topping. Set oven to broil and/or 550 degrees. Broil about 3 inches from heat until golden brown, about 3 minutes.

BROILED TOPPING:

Mix:

1/2 c. flaked coconut
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. chopped nuts
3 tbsp. butter or softened butter
2 tbsp. milk
