COFFEE CAKE 
2 cakes yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 tsp. sugar
2 c. lukewarm milk
2 c. lukewarm water
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, well beaten
3 tsp. salt
Enough flour to make a soft dough, 12 or 14 c.

TOPPING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cream

Combine first 3 ingredients; set aside. Mix the next 6 ingredients plus 2 cups flour, then add the yeast mixture. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough. Put in pans. Boil the topping until slightly thickened. Cool. Put on coffee cake before you put it in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
