MACARONI - CHEESE - HAM -
BROCCOLI CASSEROLE
 
2 c. elbow macaroni (1 box)
2 1/2 c. shredded American cheese
2 c. diced precooked ham
2 c. broccoli (fresh or frozen), partially cooked

Make a white sauce of the following: 3 tbsp. flour 2 c. milk 3/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1 tsp. parsley flakes

When cooked, mix in cheese and ham. Add macaroni and broccoli; mix well. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees (preheat oven). You can add mushrooms - use asparagus instead of broccoli.

I made this today with some leftover ham I had in the refrigerator however I made some adjustments. I added some grated Parmesan cheese (the real stuff not the kind that comes in a shaker jar) to boost the cheesy flavor. I also added some onion and garlic powder. The recipe doesn't specify but I did cook the pasta first to an al dente stage. The ham adds a nice flavor to the dish. It's a great make ahead meal, just prepare ahead and throw it in the oven when you get home from work or have your spouse or kids put it in the oven so it's ready when you get home.
