JEWISH APPLE CAKE 
6 baking apples
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. sugar
3 c. flour
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cooking oil
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. orange juice
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder

Peel, core and thinly slice apples. Mix with sugar and cinnamon. Beat remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour batter in greased and floured tube pan to cover bottom, then add a layer of apples, then batter, then apples, etc. End with apples on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours. Remove from oven. Use knife around the pan. Cool and remove from pan.
