MAPLE SYRUP CAKE | |
2 1/4 c. sifted flour 1/2 c. sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. soft shortening 1 c. syrup 1/2 c. milk 2 eggs Cream together shortening and sugar, add eggs. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately with syrup and milk. Pour into a greased and floured 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. MAPLE FROSTING: 1/3 c. soft shortening 3 c. confectioners' sugar 1/2 c. maple syrup Combine ingredients until smooth, frost cooled cake. |
