CINNAMON AND RAISIN BISCUITS 
2 c. self-rising flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
5 tbsp. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
Melted butter
2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. oil
1/4 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, 2 tablespoons sugar and cream of tartar in a bowl. Cut shortening into mixture with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Add buttermilk; mix until mixture clings together and forms ball.

Sprinkle a small amount of additional flour onto counter top. Roll dough into thin rectangle on floured surface with rolling pin. Brush with melted butter.

Mix 2 cups sugar, cinnamon, oil and raisins in small bowl. Sprinkle over dough. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut into 1 1/2-inch slices. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
