SCALLOPED POTATOES WITH PORK
CHOPS
 
6 pork chops - 1/2 inch thick
1 tbsp. fat
5 c. sliced, peeled, raw potatoes
6 slices processed American cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chopped green onion
10 1/2 oz. can condensed cream of celery soup
1 1/4 c. milk

Brown chops on one side in hot fat. Place half of potatoes in greased baking pan (13 x 9 x 2 inch). Top with cheese slices. Add remaining potatoes. Place pork chops, brown side up, on potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook onion in drippings in skillet until tender, but do not brown. Add soup and milk. Heat; then pour over the pork chops. Cover with foil or a baking sheet and bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove cover and continue baking 30 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
