OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. sugar
1 c. oil
1 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. self-rising flour

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and set aside for 20 minutes. Blend sugar, brown sugar and oil. Add eggs, cinnamon and vanilla. Add oatmeal and blend. Sift flour and soda. Add to mixture. Mix well. Bake in greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan for 35 minutes at 325 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1 c. coconut
1/3 c. undiluted can milk
1 c. chopped pecans

Melt butter in pot. Add all ingredients. Heat well. Spread over cake. Put back in oven for 10 minutes.
