WHEAT GERM OATMEAL BURGER 
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 med. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. oil
1 c. wheat germ
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. sage
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
13 oz. can evaporated milk

SAUCE FOR BURGERS:

2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk

Saute onion in oil. Mix other ingredients and let stand while making sauce. Blend sauce and cook until thick. Mix with remaining ingredients and drop by spoonfuls onto sprayed, non-stick pan. Brown on both sides. To prepare sauce, combine ingredients in saucepan and heat until thickened, stirring often. May also be served with mushroom gravy instead of sauce.

Servings: 6 to 8.
