THE WORLD'S BEST COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 c. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. rolled oats, regular
1 c. crushed corn flakes
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg, mixing well. Stir in oil and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; add to butter mixture. Mix in all other ingredients. Form into balls the size of small walnuts, place on an ungreased cookie sheet, and flatten with a fork dipped in water. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing. Makes approximately 8 dozen.
