BLACK MIDNIGHT CAKE 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. cocoa
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. water
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 round pans. Beat all ingredients on low speed, scraping bowl constantly for about 30 seconds. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Pour into pans. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cool. Fill and frost layers with brown sugar chocolate frosting.
