I made Wendy's Fondant tonight to use for an adult birthday cake. I doubled the recipe (I used shortening- FYI) and mixed in my K Aide mixer. It came out great. (I used half & half instead of milk as that was what I had on hand. Since I needed a dark color - I used a few drops of Gravy Master- With all that sugar-no one will detect the taste.) I rolled it between 2 sheets of waxed paper then peeled off one layer and placed the remainder over the rolling pin. Then I peeled off the other layer. Then carefully, I placed it on my cake etc. It helps if you roll it out about 1/4 inch thick. Also I rolled it out in sections rather than all at once. Really glad that I found your recipe: great time saver, money saver And tastes great. Thanks! Eyelean

I'm the worst baker ever and I did it in like 3 minutes! Tastes fairly good and looks amazing on cakes! At first it looks like it won't turn out but keep stirring and it turns our superior. I used milk and shortening I'm not sure what it will look like with water or butter but milk and shortening is great! Nice and easy, most recipes were like sweet milk or glucose but this was a simple 3 recipe thing.. Definitely making again!

I just made this myself. I used butter flavored Crisco (won't next time) and milk (instead of water and butter). I just had to continue stirring and it firmed up a bit. I believe for the first writer, their mistake was adding more liquid. I had to add a dash more sugar after adding some vanilla extract to a small portion I set aside...firmed right now. Now to go make a cake or cupcakes and see how it works out.

I made it once and it turned out to be frosting for some reason. I did everything right, but I didn't turn out. I guess I'll make it again and see how it turns out.

I have never made fondant... I followed this recipe.. used milk and shortening.. but I used powdered milk.. I tried it with regular milk and with the powdered milk (mixed it with water etc).. and the flavor is sooo different.. it tastes so much better with powdered milk than regular milk...

This is truly an excellent "quick" fondant and super easy especially because there is no glucose or corn syrup involved!

Very simple to use, if stuck to the margins carefully. A little hard to color but not that hard, the smaller the bowl the better. I look forward to making a ton of things with this. Note that it does harden quickly so either mix it up a second time or form and break out the spatula to move it. Hardens outside, not in the fridge like some users suggested

I am so excited to try this recipe. Almost all the fondant recipes I found online needs corn syrup (something that I can't find in stores here in France). I am so glad to have found this recipe. I will try this out for my little girl's first birthday. It's gonna be my first time to make a fondant cake. Wish me luck!
