BUTTERMILK PIE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. self-rising flour
1/4 c. lemon juice
4 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. water
cream of tartar for meringue
1 brown pie shell or graham crust

Combine sugar and flour; blend in butter (melted). Add egg yolks, milk and water and cook until nice and thick. Pour into pie shell.

Beat egg whites until they peak. Pile on pie and bake at 375°F until brown.
