WHITE BREAD
2 c. milk, scalded
3/4 c. sugar
3/8 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. yeast
2 eggs
7-8 c. flour (sifted)

Scald milk; add sugar, butter, and salt and let cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups flour and beat well. Soak yeast in 1/4 cup warm water; add to mixture together with well-beaten eggs. Sift in remaining flour to make dough stiff enough to knead.

After kneading, place dough into a greased bowl and let rise until double. Shape into loaves and let rise again. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
