2 EGG CAKE 
Preheat oven to 350°F.

Beat together:

1/2 cup butter or shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar

creaming until light and fluffy for 5-7 minutes on medium-high speed of mixer.

Add to butter mixture:

1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs

Beating after each egg is added.

Sift together:

2 1/4 cups cake flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Add to mixture in bowl, alternating with:

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk

beating after each addition.

Bake in 2 greased and floured 9x1-1/2-inch round pans at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes or until cake tests done with a wooden pick.
