2 c. unsifted flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. salad oil or melted butter
1 c. nuts

Mix flour, sugar, soda, spices, cornstarch, cocoa, and salt together. Stir in raisins. Add applesauce and oil (or butter). Mix well. Add nuts. Bake in greased loaf or 9x13 inch cake pan in 350 degree oven until done (about 40 minutes). Test with toothpick.
