MARY'S GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg. Sift dry ingredient and add to creamed mixture. Drop teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Yield: 4 dozen cookies.
