MOLASSES COOKIES OR GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine all and mix thoroughly. Then divide dough into balls - size of walnut. Dip in granulated sugar. Push balls down with bottom of a glass. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 or 12 minutes.
