1 c. butter 3/4 c. light brown sugar 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1 egg yolk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. pecans, chopped 2 c. flour TOPPING: 3/4 c. butter 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. pecans, chopped Beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until creamy. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in 1/2 cup pecans and flour. Press into 15 x 10 inch pan and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. While dough bakes, combine 3/4 cup butter and 3/4 cup brown sugar in saucepan. Bring to boil. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. When dough is done, remove from oven and prick all over with a fork. Pour syrup over dough and spread evenly. Top with 1 1/2 cups pecans. Return to oven for 5 minutes. Cool 15 minutes and cut into 1 inch squares. Do not remove until cool. |
