PLUCKERS OR PULL BUNS | |
1 pkg. yeast 1 c. scalded milk 1/3 c. sugar 1/3 c. melted butter 1/2 tsp. salt 3 eggs, well beaten 3 3/4 c. flour, approximately 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. ground nuts 3 tsp. cinnamon Melted butter Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. Add 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter and salt to scalded milk. When lukewarm, add yeast, eggs and flour. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Knead down and let rise again. Mix in small bowl the remaining sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Roll small balls of dough and dip them in melted butter, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Pile in solid bottom angel food cake pan. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees, decrease heat to 350 degrees and bake 30 minutes more. |
