FRENCH APPLE BREAD 
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. Nabisco 100% Bran
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 c. applesauce
1 c. peeled & diced apple
1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
6 thin apple slices

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9"x5"x3" loaf pan; in small bowl combine flour, bran, baking powder, baking soda; set aside. In large bowl blend butter with sugar; beat in eggs, applesauce, diced apple, cheddar cheese and walnuts; stir in 100% bran mixture; mix well; spoon into prepared pan. Place apple slices on top; bake 50 to 55 minutes; cool on wire rack 10 minutes, remove from pan; cool completely; serve immediately.
