OAT CAKES (NOVA SCOTIA) | |
3 c. flour 3 c. rolled oats, uncooked 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 lb. shortening 1/4 c. cold water Combine flour, oats, sugar, soda and salt with hands. Blend in the shortening, then moisten to a dough with cold water. Roll out thinly on floured board. Cut into squares or cut with cookie cutter. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes until golden brown. |
