"CANDIED WALNUTS" 
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter, melted
1 egg white
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. shelled walnuts

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place melted butter in a 13x9 inch pan.

In a small bowl, with mixer at high speed, beat egg white, gradually adding sugar and salt. Beat until stiff peaks form. Fold in nuts. Spread mixture in buttered pan.

Bake 30-40 minutes, turning nuts and shaking pan frequently until nuts are lightly browned and crisp. Cool nuts in pan on wire rack for a few minutes. Turn onto heavy brown paper or paper towel to cool completely and dry. Store in tightly covered container.
