CARAMEL BROWNIES 
1 (10 oz.) pkg. caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
1 box German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter butter mixture, melted
1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Combine the caramels and 1/3 cup milk in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat and stir until the caramels melt.

2. Combine the cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, melted butter and nuts.

3. Spread half the batter into a greased 9"x13" baking pan. Bake for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked crust and then spread the caramel mixture on top. Spread the rest of the chocolate batter on top of all. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
