CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
3/4 c. Crisco
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts

Heat oven to 375°F. Cream Crisco, sugar, milk, vanilla. Add egg. Combine flour, salt, and soda. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon, 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes for chewey or 11 to 13 minutes for crisp cookies.

Makes about 3 dozen.
