APPLE PIE 
1 (9-inch) pie crust
6-7 tart apples, peeled and cored
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter

CRUMB TOPPING:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line pie plate with pastry. Cut apples in eighths. Arrange apples in pie crust. Mix sugar and cinnamon together; pour over apples. Dot with butter. Cover top with crumb topping (above). Bake 50-60 minutes.

For crumb topping, cream butter and brown sugar together. Cut in flour.
