My mom use to make these things also but no one mentioned these bad boys, but I loved them! After boiling potatoes mixing with flour and eggs she would put them in a frying pan, sprinkle with sugar then remove when they got a little crispy. Not good for a diet but I loved them. I have looked to find a recipe for them and this is the closest I've gotten. Maybe I'm wrong but someday I will try it myself. Thanks everyone!

My mom made these always with bits of salt pork (sort of like bacon bits) leaving that out during lent. We had what I believe was called Kapusta with it, cabbage and kidney beans in like vinegar. Trying to get my French Canadian husband to love this.

My mom served them with cottage cheese also. It was always a Lenten Friday meal at least once or twice.

I have always had these with pork roast or beef pot roast. My mother would cook them in beef broth then add flour to make them in gravy. Never had them with cottage cheese but my friends did.

Yes Lori Heleva, that is exactly how we had our kluski, with crumbled bacon including all the fat and served with sauerkraut. I am 65 and have never found anyone else who had their Kluski like this. It has got to be the best! Thank you I was beginning to think we were not eating a Polish dish at all since no other Polska I met knew about Kluski let alone cooked with bacon, fat and served with sauerkraut.

My family ate a lot of these when I was growing up. Especially on "No-Meat" Fridays and during Lent. We fried them with onions in butter on the indicated days above and in bacon grease on all other days. Man, I could not get enough of these babies.

My mother called this dish kluski mitt, I guess it was made up but it was served with cottage cheese and almost burnt butter no low cal but so good and I hate cottage cheese otherwise.

Kluski with scrambled eggs is not unique. My family uses them as a side or main course at any meal either fried , reheated or added to soups/stews. We always have them as part of our traditional Polish New Years Dinner. We also use a thinner mix of the same ingredients to make potato pancakes. I use a mix of equal amounts of rye and white flours and a bit of ground black pepper.

This looks the recipe my Polish family from Buffalo, NY has used, too. My grandmother always fried the kluski with scrambled eggs. Im guessing this was because it was served as part of a meatless meal on Christmas Eve. Since no one else has mentioned frying them with scrambled egg once they are cooked, I'm wondering if this was my grandmother's invention.

Omg I was looking for this recipe also and almost fell off my chair when I read the comment to serve with cottage cheese! My grandmother made them for me when I was little and always had it with cottage cheese and yummy!

My polish mother-in-law made these all the time. Her five sons love them! Always served with cottage cheese & sauted onions in butter. When pressed for time - use instant mashed potatoe flakes with flour, eggs, warm water and a bit of milk. I make them once in a while for my husband.... like this weekend - it's time. :) Thanks for sharing!

My Aunty (now deceased) made these with grated potato and also added (one large) grated onion, this adds another dimension to the flavour, she also used only potato flour, we had these with beef roulades stuffed with bacon and onion which made a tasty gravy, this was served with pickled red cabbage, the dumplings were also served in chicken soup.

I had the good fortune to live with my Polish Grandparents when I was young. We had potato kluski often, so I never realized how good we ate...until my cousins would come to visit. They raved for more.

I cried when I read the comments on this Kluski. My grandmother (Baptia) was Polish, my father French and I am English. I miss them so much and the Kluski they made. Grate the potatoes, remove a bit of the liquid with a spoon. add one or two eggs and flour, mix and drop into boiling water till they rise. Add chopped fried bacon and a fried egg on top if you were lucky. Making it tonight for my kids.
