OAT BRAN BROWNIES 
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tbsp. instant coffee
2 bananas, very ripe
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. oat bran
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts, chopped, raisins, or sunflower seeds

ICING:

1/3 c. cocoa
1 c. sugar, powdered
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. milk or coffee

Combine cocoa, coffee, 1 tablespoon water and bananas in a large bowl and mix until smooth. Add sugars, eggs, vanilla, and mix well. Add oat bran, flour, and salt; stir to blend, then add nuts. Spray a 9 x 13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray and spread brownie mixture in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pan.

To make the icing, sift cocoa and sugar together, mixing well. Add vanilla and 1 tablespoon milk or coffee. Stir to blend. Add enough extra liquid to make the icing spreading consistency, stirring well. Spread over cooled brownies. Cut into squares. Makes approximately 24 brownies.
