TEXAS SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cubes butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk, can use sweet milk with 1 tbsp. vinegar added; let thicken
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Sift together sugar, flour, and salt in large bowl. Bring butter, water, and cocoa to a boil.

Put eggs, buttermilk, vanilla, and soda into small bowl and beat. Add last 2 mixtures to first mixture. Pour into greased cookie sheet with sides, 12 x 18 inches. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. The batter will be warm when placed into pan.

FROSTING:

Bring to a boil 1 cube butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa, and 6 tablespoons milk. Add this mixture to 1 box powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/2 cup nut meats. Spread on cake as soon as it comes from oven. Must be hot to spread well. Keeps well for several days.
