BEEF STEW 
2 lb. beef stew meat
1 tbsp. salt
4 c. hot water
1 clove garlic
1 med. onion, chopped
Dash allspice
Dash cloves
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. Harvey's Bristol Cream

THICKENING:

4 tbsp. flour
1/3 c. catsup

Brown beef in butter in Dutch oven. Add water, garlic, onion and bay leaves. Sprinkle remaining ingredients, except Harvey's Bristol Cream, over surface. Cover and cook slowly until almost done. Add carrots and celery and mushrooms. When vegetables are tender add Harvey's Bristol Cream.

Thicken with flour mixed with catsup.
