ONIONS CELESTE 
3 lg. mild onions
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 can cream of chicken soup
1/3 c. milk
Salt and pepper
1/4 loaf French or Italian bread
2 c. Swiss cheese, shredded

Slice onions in 1/4 inch thick slices. Saute onions until golden, not brown, in butter. Put onions in buttered casserole dish. Salt and pepper to taste. Take 1/2 can of cream of chicken soup and 1/3 cup milk and heat in pan that you cooked onions in. Pour liquid over onions. Spread shredded cheese over onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Take out of oven and put sliced buttered bread around top edge. Bake 25 more minutes.
