PAPER BAG CARAMEL CORN 
1/4 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 to 3 qt. popped corn (2/3 c. unpopped)

Cook corn syrup, brown sugar, butter and salt on full power in the microwave 4 minutes, stirring twice. Add soda and vanilla. Stir. Place popcorn in large grocery bag and pour cooked syrup on popcorn. Stir with wooden spoon to cover evenly. Cook on full power (in the bag) 1 1/2 minutes. Shake. Cook 1 1/2 minutes more, checking and shaking the bag every 30 seconds. Pour on waxed paper to cool in a single layer.

VARIATION: Use hulless popcorn, bought already popped in bags, looks like cheese corn without the cheese.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
