MRS. M.'S FAMOUS IRISH SCONE 
3 c. (heavy) flour
2/3 c. of sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt, sift all dry ingredients
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 tbsp. caraway seed
2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix dry ingredients together (raisins too). Mix 2 eggs and 2 cups of buttermilk and add to above ingredients. Add the 2 tablespoons of melted butter in ingredients.

Important melt 2 tablespoons butter in Pyrex dish in oven well (not brown.) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes in greased cast iron frying pan. Make sure oven temperature is correct. Let stand 10 or 15 minutes and then cool on wire rack.
