BEEF STROGANOFF 
1/2 lb. round steak
2 med. onions
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. canned tomatoes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
1/2 c. sour cream
2 1/2 c. cooked rice or noodles

Cut meat into 2 inch strips, 1/4 inch thick. Saute onions in shortening for 10 minutes and remove to a bowl. Add meat to shortening, brown slowly, sprinkle with flour and blend. Add tomatoes and seasonings, cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add mushrooms, onions and sour cream. Simmer 20 minutes or until meat is tender. Serve over rice or noodles.
