PERSIMMON COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. persimmon pulp
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins; optional
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, pulp, nuts, and raisins. Sift dry ingredients and add. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 5 dozen small cookies.
