BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1 box plus 1 c. brown sugar
5 eggs
1 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and Crisco until light. Add sugar, 1 cup at a time and cream well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift dry ingredients together and add to cream mixture, alternating with the milk. Add vanilla.

Grease and flour a Bundt pan. Spoon in cake mixture and bake 1 1/2 hours. Remove from oven and let cool on rack for 30 minutes. This cake keeps well and can be frozen.
