BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
1 box brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. pecans or walnuts (chopped)

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add milk and vanilla alternating with sifted dry ingredients. Coat nuts with flour and fold in last. Bake in a tube pan at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake for 45 minutes more.
