BEAN SOUP 
2 c. diced ham
2 c. beans (Navy or baby limas)
4 c. cold water
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. butter
Salt, pepper, paprika

Cook ham. Add to beans. Add cold water and cook until beans are soft. Soup must not be too thick. Blend in flour and butter. Cook until all seasoning has been blended.

Close to my great grandma's recipe. Add a teaspoon of molasses. Add onion. Add garlic. Diced canned ham works juice and all.A touch of lemon juice or vinegar works too... Oh the memories. I used your recipe and it was very good. My suggestions are just a reflection of watching my great grandma adding a pinch of this or that and a glug or three....
