BAKED APPLESAUCE | |
5 lb. tart apples 1 c. currant jelly 3/4 c. sugar 2/3 c. water 1/3 c. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. nutmeg Peel and core apples, slice, place in casserole. Combine jelly, sugar and water. Heat until jelly is partially melted. Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice and nutmeg. Pour over apples. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until apples are soft. Stir to desired consistency. It is good "chunky". Serve hot - makes about 5 cups. |
