Ella's Candied Sweet Potatoes

I wanted to make my Grandmom's Candied Sweet Potatoes. So I looked all over for King syrup. Could not find it in any stores near me in Baltimore, MD. So, I had to pay almost $20.00 for a bottle online. After I had the syrup I looked all over for a recipe using King syrup specifically and I found this one.

At first I thought the measurements would be too sweet so I did not add all the sweetness. Mine turned out good but it was not as sweet as Grandmom's so I think this recipe may be mark on. Next time I will follow Ella's recipe as stated minus white sugar and melt mini marshmallows on top instead.

I only had 2.4 lb mashed sweet potatoes. I mixed in 1/2 stick of butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar, 1/2 cup King syrup and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Then added about 3/4 bag of mini marshmallows on top and baked it in casserole dish on 375 until marshmallows were melted and toasty.
