PECAN TARTS 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 c. flour
2 sticks (1/2 lb.) butter

FILLING:

1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
Chopped nuts (pecan or walnuts)

Cream together cheese and butter. Add flour a little at a time, blending well after each addition. Roll into walnut-sized balls and flatten balls into tart tins.

Make filling by heating butter and sugar over low heat. Cool and add eggs and vanilla and blend well. Put desired amount of chopped nuts on top of "pastry" in tart tins and fill each to 3/4 full with sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
