2 c. soft bread crumbs
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. thyme
1/2 c. water
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 c. sliced onion
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. water
2 tsp. prepared mustard

Combine crumbs, chopped onion, seasoning and 1/2 cup water. Let stand 5 minutes. Mix in meat. Shape into 8 patties. Brown in small amount of hot fat. Cover with sliced onion. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over meat. Cover and simmer 35 minutes or bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
