CABBAGE WEDGE | |
1 med. cabbage 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper 1/4 c. onion, finely chopped 1/4 c. butter 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 2 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing 3/4 c. Cheddar cheese 3 tbsp. chili sauce Cut cabbage into 8 wedges; remove core. Cover and cook 10 minutes in a small amount of slightly salted boiling water. Drain well. Place cabbage wedges in a 9x13x2 inch baking dish. Saute green pepper and onion in butter until tender. Add flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper and pour sauce over cabbage. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Combine mayonnaise and cheese, spoon over cabbage. Bake 5 minutes more. |
