MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1/3 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix sugar, shortening and eggs in mixing bowl. Measure flour, cocoa and salt together and mix with first mixture. Add vanilla and nuts.

Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees in 9 x 13 inch pan. Take out of oven and spread with miniature marshmallows. Bake 5 or 6 minutes more. Let cool and spread with following icing:

2 sticks butter
1 box confectioners' sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
