APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. shortening
7/8 c. milk
Melted butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
3 or 4 c. chopped apples

FOR THE SAUCE:

1 c. sugar, brown
1 c. hot water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. flour
Cinnamon to taste

Sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening. Stir in milk. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick on wax paper. Brush with butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cover with chopped apples. Roll up and cut in 1 1/2 inch slices. Place flat in pan. NOTE: Wax paper helps to roll the apple roll.

Sauce: Sift sugar, flour and salt together. Add water. Boil 3 minutes. Stir in cinnamon. Pour sauce over dumplings. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
