PEPPER BEEF BURGER
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
2 tbsp. low-fat dry milk
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
3/4 lb. ground chuck or ground round
2 med. onions, sliced thin
3/4 c. tomato sauce
1 lg. green pepper, cut into strips

Combine bread crumbs, milk, and seasonings in bowl. Add meat and mix well. Shape into 4 patties, 3/4 inch thick. Brown patties both sides in skillet. Strain off fat. Add onions to skillet. Blend in tomato sauce and pour into skillet. Cover and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes. Top with green pepper, cover, and cook 10 minutes more. Makes 4 servings.

You can substitute ketchup for tomato sauce and dry bread crumbs for Italian bread crumbs.
